Scripture: Acts 2:1
The expectant belief of the apostles, grounded in the commands and promises of Christ, resulted in prayer that persevered. The expectant people of God pray with persistence, unity, and confidence in Jesus.

Scripture: Acts 1:9-26
Jesus told his disciples to go and wait before they go out. Maybe he needed to see obedience in the small things before calling them to the big things. Could the same be true of us?

Scripture: Acts 1:1-8
In Moses, we see one whose desire was for the honor, ways, presence, and glory of God. In Christ, we see all those desires being fulfilled to the greatest degree. Will God’s people desire the Giver more than the gifts? Will we long for him more than we long for ourselves?
What is the final piece to the Great Commission puzzle, for the church to finally and fully be the church? Yes, the Holy Spirit provides us with a right understanding of Jesus. Yes, the Holy Spirit produces a supernatural boldness in the face of danger. Yes, the Holy Spirit enables a right humility in place of our sinful pride and self-reliance. But it’s not enough to just see Jesus for who he is, or to see threats for what they really are, or to even see ourselves as we really are. We need to see others the way God sees them.
