The prophet Isaiah was given a glimpse of Yahweh’s suffering servant some 700 years before he was born. With prophetic eyes, he saw the Messiah’s face, which would silence kings and startle nations. In the face of Jesus Christ, we see the unexpected. But we see the face of God, which is breathtaking and beautiful in ways we never could have anticipated.
