The young adults ministry provides community for people after high school to age 30, both single and married, where they can feel safe and wanted, while enjoying time spent together and learning how to be true disciples of Jesus Christ. All are welcome! No matter where you are in your faith journey, you are welcome to be with us!
Sunday mornings at 9:00 am we gather for Sunday School. This is a time set apart for us to learn from the Bible. We study and discuss challenging issues in our lives, biblical history, doctrine, the beauty of theology, and the wonders of the mystery of salvation. We also enjoy breakfast snacks and good coffee! One of our favorite themes is, "The Triune God has given us everything we need for life and godliness!" from 2 Peter. We're transparent and real as we share together how to apply Truth in our lives. It's an awesome way to begin Sunday morning, and prepares our hearts and minds for worship the next hour.
Wednesday nights we gather at church to take part in various ministries at 7:00 pm with the congregation, such as choir or Bible Study, etc. At 8:15 we start playing games – anything from Quelf to ping pong to Sardines. It's when we can act pretty juvenile, laugh our heads off, and not be judged! It is a highlight of the week for many of us. Often we include learning a "Life Skill", such as how to make an omelet, how to sew on a button, fundamentals of self-defense, how to tie a tie, etc. Before we go home, we check in with each other on what's going on in our lives, and we have prayer. People bring their friends – anyone is welcome, so we're always meeting someone new.
Intimate, intense small group discipleship opportunity is available for people who are interested. Women meet with women, and men meet with men. This is where our walk with God becomes real, not just a nice idea. This is where life-changing friendship with Jesus Christ is manifested in friendships with people who dare to believe He is Who He said, and who dare to live like they believe it.
We explore avenues for being sent by the Sent One into His world which He cares about more than He cares for Himself. We want to love like He does, without self-interest. There are opportunities brewing for foreign mission trips, domestic mission trips, and local mission. God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all. Millions of people still walk in darkness. In just the same way that He was sent into the world, He sends us as well.
Jesus said to them again, 'Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.' (John 20:21)
At random times we plan other fun things to do together, like make a beach trip after church, have a bonfire in someone's back yard, play a spontaneous game of ultimate Frisbee on the high school football field, or have movie night and popcorn. We're pretty much up for anything, so let us know your ideas!
